General Audition Information

If you are a newcomer to the IceHouse, we look forward to meeting you.   And if you are a returning actor – it will be great to see you again!  Our audition turnout is generally high, so to assure everyone is seen, our auditions are by appointment - usually on Sunday and Monday evenings.  Auditions are held at the Theatre (click here for directions).  

For musicals, actors are required to bring sheet music in the correct key for their own voices, for the accompanist.  We suggest singers choose music in the same genre as the musical being cast (whether it is legit, traditional musical theater, pop, country, rock, etc). 

To request a time slot for the production listed above, or to receive future audition notices, contact managing artistic director Darlin Barry by email at darlin@icehousetheatre.com or call (352) 383-3133, ext. 5.  When emailing, please include a performance resume and a photo; these do not need to be professionally produced.  Scheduled appointment times will be emailed back.  Callbacks will be held if and as needed.  

Rehearsals and Performances:  Rehearsals run 6 - 12 weeks prior to opening night.  Show dates are Thursdays-Sundays, and one Wednesday (in the fourth week of the run,) for sixteen performances over four weekends.  Some productions will run five weekends, either by original scheduling, or if the show is extended.  Show dates & schedules are included on Audition postings.
